Patient
Transport is provided in a comfortable air-conditioned 15-seater Toyota
van. Outpatients who may be nauseated or debilitated from radiotherapy or
chemotherapy and who attend the hospital almost daily for 4-6 weeks are
relieved from the burden of public transport and offered a door-to-door
private and dignified service. Medication is also delivered to indigent
patients. This transport service cost $35 000 per annum to maintain. The
van, which is replaced every three years, is valued at $70 000. |
