Daily,
newly diagnosed cancer patients or their relatives telephone or visit our
office to discuss the implications of the diagnosis. They need someone to
turn to, someone who will listen and comprehend. The Society is investing
a large proportion of its budget in this welfare service, and the home visiting
program of the Hospice Outreach Services, but regards every cent spent as
an individual contribution towards patient comfort, since these times: diagnosis,
relapse, terminal illness and bereavement, are areas where help is most
desperately needed. |
