T.V advisories, panel discussions, call in programs and participation in World Health Organisation activities are functions of the Society in health promotion. The Society was recognised by WHO for this service by being awarded the "Tobacco or Health" medal, one of the only two medals awarded in the whole of the Americas in 1992.
